Placing an object in a render without redrawing the scene

A sculpture on a plinth, a bench, a tree: inserting one object should not repaint the rest of the image. How an object reference keeps the scene still.

Clients ask for the art piece in the plaza long before it exists. An object reference lets you show it in place, at scale, in the light of the scene - and leaves every other pixel alone.

Say where, not how

Describe where it goes - on a plinth to the left of the entrance - and the pass places it, matches the light and casts its shadow. If it lands in the wrong spot, move the instruction, not the whole image.
